Hi Joe,

Well Joe, I thought that I will drop a few line to let you know how I am.

Well Joe, now I am away seas on some island in the South Pacific. It’s not a bad island because we have some white people on it. There are quite a few natives on this island too, some dark skins and some light. The men are very nice to talk too and there are many things that you can see.

Joe, Sophie wrote me and said that you were in town for a while, have a good time I hope. Did you go to the showing ring and is it the same? I bet you saw all your girl friends there.

How many days did you get to stay in Richmond? Many, I hope. It’s been a long time since I seen you last. Well let’s hope that when we do see each other it will be in one piece.

Joe, what have you been doing the last few months? Seeing some of the world I bet. I saw a lot of it too on my trip to the island that I’m on.

Do you know that we can get all the beer that we want to drink and some wine too? Well Joe, that is all for now, hoping to hear from you real soon.
