Dear Joe,
Thanks for
the Christmas card. I haven’t started to
mail mine yet but you can be sure you’re on my list.
The other
day I took a five hour test for entrance to Brooklyn College
and I’ll never forget it because it left me with a splitting headache, a stiff
neck, a sore back and very blurry eyes.
Right now I’m trying to convince myself that I passed it but I don’t
seem to be doing so well.
I bet you
miss your two little nephews. It’s sad
you can’t be with them for Christmas.
Well after the war is over you’ll be with them for early Christmas.
I guess you
miss New York
and all the people. Is it lonely up in Nova Scotia? I know that if I left New York I’d want to come right back. I guess you felt the same way about “Good Old
Virginia”. Well I haven’t anything else
to write so here’s hoping you have a very merry Christmas and write
soon.
I am as ever,
Murriel
