Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,
At this writing we are still on the train but are getting close to the end of the trip.
It has been quite enjoyable and we sure have tried to take advantage of every chance to see all we could of the country.
We left Scott Sunday night about 9:30 pm and have been riding ever since. We came through Kansas City and across Kansas, through a part of Oklahoma and into Texas to El Paso. From there we took off across Arizona to Tucson and then to Yuma.
Then we went across to Los Angeles and up the San Fernando Valley to Sacramento.
Southern California is very beautiful country but I liked Tucson, Arizona. It seemed to be such a friendly town.
We passed an airplane plant near Los Angeles yesterday and you should have seen the planes on the fields. Acres of them and all in the last stages of completion.
Well I must close now but will write more in my next letter.
I have no definite address as yet so until I send it to you I guess you will just have to wait.
Excuse the pencil which I must use until I can catch up with the rest of my luggage.
I hope you received the trunk OK and keys. I sent them home because they were too heavy to carry.
Well now I will close. Tell Margaret I will write her soon.
Love to you all.
Aubrey
