Australia
May 23, 1942
Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,
I have been wanting to write you before now but as news is very scarce out here I have just kept putting it off. I bet you people back home know more about what is doing here in Australia than we do.
The pictures you sent out were just fine and I would like to have some more sometime. Margaret sent me several also and they were very good.
I hope you have been receiving the letters I have written in good time, but sometimes I wonder, because you are still using my old address.
I was very glad to hear that Frank was doing so well with his new job and I want to write him soon, if not to-day.
The weather has been just fine here and it is rather warm in spite of the fact that it is winter time here now.
I have been keeping well with the exception of a cold have been feeling fine. I think we all get a bit home-sick now and then.
It won’t be very long before I will be running out of razor blades for my razor. If you could send me a couple packs of Schick Injector blades I sure would be mighty pleased. And say you could send some cookies if you put them in a good tin box.
Last Sunday I went to Mass in a very pretty church. I guess I have been in every type of Catholic church that there is since I joined the Army.
Well I must close for this time, so give my best wishes to all the folks and keep well.
As always with love,
Aubrey
