Dear Mom, Dad, & Marie,
I have really neglected to write you long enough – in fact my conscience is bothering me so I will try to write a little.
Last week I was moved to a new location. Now I am doing a different kind of work but it is in the same line as before. If you know what I mean.
If you remember in my last letter I promised to send you a picture of myself, so I am enclosing a couple in this letter. I hope you like them. One of them shows me with a koala bear. It is too bad the photo did not turn out so well as you will see. The other picture in of me and “Happy” the Wallaby.
The other day I told the lieutenant that the reason I had not sent any pictures of the wallaby home was because I was afraid you would write back and say, “Why son you sure have changed.” Then the lieutenant said “but not much” end of quote.
So I will say now that the “wallaby” on the left is me.
I am also going to try and write Margaret today and I will send her a few photos as well.
It has been a rather long time since I received a letter from you. But I guess when they come there will be a lot of them.
Here now it is mid-winter and the weather is still very pleasant, although is becomes very cool at night.
Today we were able to get hold of a pile of candy, cigarettes, and other things which will bring is much pleasure. So you see that life is not so bad.
We still
manage to hear the news from home as well as the latest songs etc – and of
course this helps to make our stay in
Well I guess that is the news for this time so I will close with the hope this will find you all well and very happy. Don’t worry about me as I am fine and intend to stay that way.
