Dear Mom, Dad, & Marie,

I am always glad to hear from you but when your letters come in bunches it is even more pleasing. The other day I received 8 letters which covered from June 26th to August 25th. Just before they came I received one from you dated Sept. 8th. A little messed up but most welcome.

The cigarettes, razor blades and cookies which Frank sent arrived. The cookies were splendid and enjoyed.

The same day I received a letter from John Meredith and one from Margaret. The boys said that it looked like I had hit the jackpot. The picture of Marie was splendid. I might not recognize her when I get back. The house looks fine. Margaret also sent some pictures which were very good. I guess you saw them. “Mrs. Sallie” is getting younger looking.

I was sorry to hear of Uncle Harry’s death but from what your letters said I guess he is better off. I will try and write Aunt “Tessie” but I do not know her number. Send it to me in your next letter and I will write.

I have written at least 3 letters to Aunt “Best” and Sadie, and I can’t understand why they have not received them, maybe they will show up soon. I hope so.

Tell me more about the new airport as I am extremely interested. It must be pretty large from what the letters say.

By the time you read this you will have received my last allotment check. The September one. They have been stopped by the government for the present.

I wish Frank had asked that soldier what his name was as I am curious to know who he was. Anyways he is lucky to be back in the states.

I received the first issue of the Digest but since them I have not heard from it. Maybe it has gone astray.

By this time I trust Father McKinna has recovered from his illness. I was sorry to hear about it. He is a good man.

The Butlers were in Richmond on vacation, ‘eh. I have not heard from them in a long while. I would like to take a vacation right now, too.

If you haven’t sent any candy already I would suggest that you do not. We can get candy here and yours would only spoil. If you want to send me something please send stationary as my supply is running low.

Give all the folks, who send greetings, my best regards and tell Aunt René to write and let me know how Jim is doing.

I will close now by saying that I am quite well and hope to see you all.

                                                                                    With love

                                                                                    Aubrey

P.S. Tell Dad to write sometime also Marie.
