Dear Mom, Dad, and Marie,
Your letters, cards and the swell paper from St. “Pats” have been coming in fine, but unfortunately I have had a hard time trying to get an answer off to you.
About returning to the states – I can only say that at this time, there are no visible prospects. So just keep on being patient and one of these days maybe something will leave here with me aboard. That is the day I am living for, believe me!
I am glad to know that you think it is a good idea to hang on to the checks, and was relieved to hear you say so.
How did the trip to Williamsburg go? It is such a lovely place that I hope you were able to go.
Believe it or not, I am still your best boy-friend even if I do not write as often as you expect.
Had a letter from Aunt René with pictures of Jim & his wife. Very nice. Hope he makes that promotion she mentioned. Also had cards from you and Marie, (many thanks) and also from Aunt Bert. Besides these, I have received many letters and the despised V mails.
I can imagine Marie talking jive-talk, but it requires some stretch of my imagination to picture Dad doing likewise.
About the razor blades – Many thanks, I will be looking for them. I guess the army P.X.’s is the states are about the only place to get them now.
I sure would like to be able to be there to see Marie graduate but maybe if you take some pictures of it I will be more or less present. I enjoyed the paper you sent and will try to write Fr. Brennan sometimes.
The Merediths and Margaret are still my most faithful correspondents. Margaret sent pictures of the snow and Eddie Herbert. I understand he is going to O.C.S.
Now I must close so this will get started on it way. Please don’t be angry with me for my long silence but remember I will write when possible.
All my love,
Aubrey
