Dear Mother:
We are all busy packing as we are leaving tomorrow morning early.
This will probably be the last letter for awhile unless I can sneak away and write one. When I am upperclassmen I will be able to write again. That will be 4 ½ weeks from now.
Tomorrow will be the hardest they say which will consist of hazing and running our ass off in general. The next two weeks are drill and physical training only.
Last night we had to go and listen to a singer all night. Enclosed is the program.
9 weeks from now I’ll be one happy lad and that is when we go to primary school.
I won’t get out for 5 weeks either but I guess the time will pass very fast, because we’ll always be doing something.
I guess I’ll close and get busy.
We go across the road
and all letters are Your son,
forwarded. Melvin
