Hello, dear little darling husbie:
I received the deposit slip credit for 375$ yesterday, and apparently it
reached the bank in April 28. Pretty fast! We had the best funds yesterday: we
went down to Orleans and spent the afternoon working in Winkie’s
garden. She raked and hoed and weeded it, while Pup and I sat on the porch;
then I sprinkled in plant food and manure, out of a little bag. Next month, we
will set out tiny plants, and the baby can help us! Darling, if you have received
the letter I wrote to you April 13th, please understand what
made me write it: love and anxiety for you, and hope for our future together. I
have been so worried for fear it might hurt you or make you mad. So do understand,
my dearest—please. I was quite tired yesterday when we got home, but went right
to bed. You bought me the most beautiful potted violet plant yesterday! It will
live on my dressing table. Thank you, sweetie. I hope
you are well, and not getting too anxious about your baby’s arrival. I will
cable you at once or rather Winkie will. I love you
and I nubsie wants and needs! Your wife,
Funny Pie
