Dear dear little honey: I’m
writing this out on the porch while I watch our darling baby have her sun bath.
She is lying on her tummy now, with little turtle head raised up, looking all
around, and little feet up too. Of course she is entirely nude, and she looks
too precious. Her bottom is adorable. She loves the sun and grows healthier and
more beautiful every day. We had fun yesterday, while waiting for the mail to
get sorted, went to Howard Johnson’s, bought a small box of fried clams and
drove out to the beach and ate them!! It was fun. I am having a very good time
here, and am as nearly happy as I will ever be and if my dearest comes home to
me. Tonight, Mary and her mother are coming over-Mary has ‘til Thursday off.
She and I plan to go fishing, if we can borrow a boat. She says maybe Davey
will be here next month!!! I want to know him my lovely little baby, who looks
so like her? Daddy, and make him jealous darling, I love you so much- please
take care of yourself. You are so far away from me! Where do you have the doedsie doe? NOT on dinka?! My
allotment check came yesterday it will go to the bank in today’s mail. Hushie provides so
well for “his girls.” Those money orders and the other money [was] sent today
all my love, your wife.
