Dear dear love:
It’s just about bed time - We had some nice company tonight, a married couple whom I knew in Orleans – and I am so lonely for you. I will wear my little yellow night gown that I buyed when you and I were in New York: ‘membah? – Then maybe I will dream of you. I have made up my mind that you are on your way home and that’s why I haven’t heard from you for nine weeks. My brother is home!! On nature, in Washington, prior to a 30 day leave at home. Everybody gets home but you! I wish you were in the Navy -! I defrosted the icebox this morning to be all ready for the repair man when he comes next week. It was pretty much frosted up as I like to keep Birdseye foods on hand, and consequently have to risk thawing them by defrosting. My glasses aren’t here yet! I am very much in need of them. Got off Easter cards to BeeBee and Aunt Alice today, will mail others tomorrow. Goodnight dear, I love you so very much and will forever.
Your own, Effie.
