Dear Father,

The other day I was looking over my various financial effects and found that somewhere I had left on lost that list of the various interest rates which the Wildey Bank funds out each year. In March you sent me one but I lost it, it seems. If possible I would like another copy. I don’t know whether there would be any left, but if you can get one, please send it to me.

Every so often I get talking to some old boy who knows someone I have soldiered with. That is the beginning. Usually we end up with a discussion of that part of the country native to the boy. The latest was with a fellow from West Virginia. Our mutual friend didn’t take up too much time so the much was spent on the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am sorry that I never got a chance at the Range down in the Carolinas. That part of the Blue Ridge that I did see was quite a deal. As long as I live I probably never forget that April afternoon when I first came over the Ridge into the Shenandoah Valley. All the way up along the top of the Blue Ridge was a continuous beautiful sight. I would indeed like to again see the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and West Virginia. Really the Rockies are not in the same class with the Appalachian Range

While I think of it, do you know whether Lilian was ever able to get a copy of the Co-Operative Bank listing? At present I don’t think I would have much use for it but it would be interesting to have for later reference. Oh yes, I want to go to the Mutual Savings Bank member in Oregon. Now I have written to the 4 which you named last April. When my mail and I finally get together I should have some pretty good ideas about the 4 West Coast Mutual Savings Banks. Maybe I would be able to get an account in each of them. I am hitting for that 540. It may be possible after all. [Edited for content] …addition in overpricing the back income tax. You all better brush up on your figuring.
