Dearest
Clara,
I am feeling fine honey so please
don’t worry. Will drop you a few lines while I am doing
nothing. I had to help clean up in the room this morning. It sure was
better than sitting around all the time. I will sure be glad when I get off of
the ship, so I can have a little more room, and get some of my clothes cleaned
up. I take a bath every day, and sometimes two, but you can’t get clean with
salt water. Some of the fellows play cards all the time, but you know how much
I like cards, so I have to read some, and try to think up something to write.
Darling I read your letters over and over again, it
sure is nice that I have them to read. I sure will be glad when I hear from you
again, and I bet you will also. Darling I dream of you every night, and it sure
would be nice if I was home with you. It sure is tough when our letters stop
all at once, but we will get them some time darling. Will
close as I am out of paper. Write soon.
With
all my love and kisses
To
my darling wife Clara,
Johnny
