Dearest
Clara,
Just a few lines to let you know I
am fine, and hope you are the same. Darling I write you two letters a day when
I can, so I hope you get them all. Keep track of the dates to see if you get
them all. Some days I don’t get to write but I can’t help that. It is raining,
has been all day, the sun hasn’t been out. They have a show here, but I haven’t
[gone] yet. They are all old pictures. Some of them I have already [seen], but
it’s something to kill time, but I fool around thinking about you, and getting
my clothes cleaned up. It’s hard to keep clothes cleaned up when it rains all
the time and [is] muddy. Well darling, I will close for this time, and I will
always be true to you.
With
lots of love and kisses to my darling wife Clara,
Johnny
S.
