Dearest Clara,
It is noon now;
I got 2 letters from you, V-A.Mail. I will answer one
now and save the long one for tonight, maybe by then I’ll get some more. I got
one from Ruby too, her sister had a baby girl, it weighed 5 lbs 7 ¾ ounces.
Must be awful small, she is younger than Ruby. I guess she had quite a bit of
trouble having it, so Ruby said. I guess she is alright by this time. I bet you
are sleepy, I sure was last night. I sure would enjoy seeing your pillow top
now since you have it done, I bet it is awful pretty. I suppose Dolly is making
nice things, like you are honey. You say its Grandma’s heart this is bothering
her, instead of the flu. I hope she comes out of it real soon. I am waiting +
hoping all the time anyway. I have been shoveling sand for the tent floors. I
have to haul some more pretty soon. I have already eaten, so I’ll try and get a
couple letters answered, don’t you think it a good idea. Well honey, I sure am
glad that you are well, considering, you know what I mean don’t you. Write
soon, I will to you.
With all my love to my dear wife Clara,
Johnny
