Dearest
Clara,
I hope I don’t run out of v-mail
before I get where there is some more, but I don’t think I will. I have quite a
few yet. This is one day I wish that I could be home, and you are thinking the
same I bet. I’ve thought about it for some time, but knew it wouldn’t do me any
good, but I hope you are feeling well. I am except my stomach feels light, from
sitting here in the heat on the ship. I’ll try to get a nice present for you
dear. I hope it will be soon too. I am getting closer to home every minute, but
still it’s a good long ways, but it makes me feel much better. Well honey, have
a good dinner for both of us, and try to feel happy anyway. I know it will be
hard to do for us.
With all my love and kisses to my
sweet wife,
Your hubby Johnny
