Dearest Clara,
Well
honey, it is just about bed time, but I will write a few lines on this. I got
all of your letters answer now; I have a few of those left, but not many. I kinda string them along until I get some more. I have to
get up at 4 in the morning, and stand guard; it’s getting rather late now. I
tried to answer all of your questions, the best I knew how dear. I hope you
will enjoy reading it; it’s almost a book. I did some carpenter work today, and
helped to clean up the place. I have our picture, so I can look at you while I write;
it sure does look good to me honey. I only got one letter tonight, and it was
from Laurel; they all seem to be alright there.
Well dear be careful
and write me all the news; I’m careful too. I probably will get some more mail
tomorrow, I hope. So write often; I sure like to get lots of letters from you
dear. Good night.

All my Love and Kisses to my Wife, Your husband Johnny S.
