Dearest Clara,
Well
honey, I will write you this, as we aren’t doing much this afternoon. I sure
did get wet again; it looks like I am going to take my rain coat after this. I
want to get all of my letters answered if I can; I may get some more this
evening, I hope! Today is Saturday. We cleaned up around the place so it will
look like something. I sure get a laugh out of Jane’s letters, just like you
and I used to honey. She was telling me all about you going fishing, and that
they have a new cheese factory now; she seems to be pretty busy. I hope that
she turns out to be as good as you dear. I got a new cot; the other one kept
breaking down all the time. The canvas tore [and] I sewed it up a couple of
times but [that] didn’t do any good. Well sweetheart as I am out of space, I’ll
close, and write you a long letter tonight. So be careful, and I am for you. It
is sure hot today. Write often.
With
All my Love and Kisses to my Wife, Johnny
