Dearest Clara,
Well
honey, I’ll try and get this one written before the mess truck gets here, it is
just about time for it now. This is about the hottest I’ve seen it for some
time, I just about got too much tan yesterday, and I only had my shirt off for
a few minutes. It isn’t very sore from it though, you
probably have lost all of yours now, haven’t you dear? The fellow that drew the
picture for me went down in the bay, and caught some of the most beautiful fish
that I ever saw in my life, I wish there was a way of sending one to you. Their
color is red, orange and black, he said there were some blue ones, but didn’t
have any luck catching them with the net. I hope this finds you feeling better,
so do be careful and I’ll write later. Write often.
With
all my love and kisses to my sweet wife,
Johnny
