Dearest Clara,
Honey,
it is another hot day, and doesn’t look like it is going to rain very soon
either to cool things down. I’ve been
lazy most of the day, I got a few more shells, and different things picked up,
I have two more things to make before I send them. I hope they get there by Christmas, any way
they should, but they will mean just as much to you if they don’t make it by
then, won’t they dear? I only can work
on such things like that at odd times.
Aren’t you glad that you can work on different things for us, any time
you feel like it, I always do my best for you, but sometimes I can’t. I had to start
taking salt tablets for awhile, the heat just about got the best of me, that’s
just with all my plain old salt, it sure does help. Be careful sweetheart. Write often as I am for you.
Dear Wife Clara,
Your Husband Johnny
