Admiralty Island
Dearest Clara,
I
washed a few of my dirty clothes late this afternoon. I have them all clean
now, for another week, except for socks. I wash them out pretty often, to keep
my feet from getting sore. I don’t have very many pains. We have a dog now. She
sure is spoiled, can’t get her to eat raw meat at all. A dog is sure a lot of
company, the little rascal has a habit of taking out socks, and carrying them
away. I am getting awfully sleepy, as I was on guard last night. It kind of broke
up my rest. I worked part of the day.
Well
honey, I guess I better wash my teeth and go to bed, as we always get up pretty
early in the morning. So be careful and write often. Good night.
Love to my wife Clara,
Your husband Johnny
