Dearest Clara,
Well
honey, I will get this one done and then I will get to bed as 3 o’clock comes
pretty early. I have to get up for guard. I was on dawn alert this morning, so
I won’t have to be on tomorrow morning, I can go back to bed for couple of
hours after I get through pulling guard. It sure is muddy when we get off of the
sand, goes over our shoe tops. The road is awful muddy also, but we ride into chow
on the truck, so it isn’t so bad. I have been in a lot worse mud in the states.
Honey, all of the things you get made up now will save you a lot of work later,
after I get back and we start to keeping house, won’t it? And you can but I’ll
be proud of you and your work that you have been doing. Be careful dear, good
night now. Write real often.
With all my love, to my dear wife Clara,
Husband Johnny
