Dearest Clara,
Well honey, I just have a few minutes before I go on guard for awhile, so I’ll get this done. I sure enjoyed reading you 8 V’s that I got this morning. I had the day off but I didn’t get to go in and send the money. Will have to do that later it looks like. I took a good bucket bath this afternoon and changed clothes, so I’ll have some more washing to get done. I have all my clothes folded up now, sure will be glad when I can find another box to put some of my stuff in, as the one I have is a little too small. Honey, did Jane ever get the bracelet that I sent to her in the envelope? It just came to me about it. Be good + careful honey, as I will. Write often. Good-night.
My Dear Wife Clara,
Always Your Husband, Johnny.
