Dearest Clara,
Well honey, I write this one, so I can get it in the mail, it has been a nice day to work, I bet you think we move a lot of dirt, we do, but we had to have most of it hauled in, as there wasn’t enough around close that could be used. Honey I hope you thought to have one of your pictures made real small, when you sent those in to Johnson, I want a good one to put in a ring or something. I have the one Mother sent me of her, it’s just the right size. I wish I had a good one of me so I could make a pin for you dear, but I know it takes time to have the pictures made and get them over here, doesn’t it? I hope this’ll find you alright, so be real careful honey as you sure mean a lot to me. Good Night. Write real often.
With all my love and kisses to my sweet wife Clara, Johnny.
