Dearest
Clara,
Well honey, this is the biggest day
of the year, I have a lot to be thankful for, even though I can’t be home to
enjoy a nice Christmas with you. I could have had the day off but I didn’t have
any place to go, so one of the other boys went in my place. I’ll get my day off
later.
We will have a dinner this evening,
which I know that all of us will enjoy.
I
bet it sure sounded good, when Mom told you that you should worry about not
doing much work that week. You need a rest anyway, honey. I’ll sure be glad
when you can work for me, you sure had to work hard I know that. Be very
careful dear, and I’ll write a letter this evening. Merry Christmas, write real
often.
Love
to my Dear Wife Clara,
Husband Johnny
