Dearest
Clara,
Well dear, I finally arrived at Ft. Douglas,
and will be in the hospital for a week, first having a checkup is all, so
please don’t worry, honey. I don’t have to be in bed at all, as I am at the
service club at present writing this. They surely keep me busy running from one
building to the other. All of the other fellows are doing the same also.
Darling, I sure hope you are over the flu and well again. I worry about you. I
don’t like my sweet wife to be sick. It might be that the hospital will release
me in shorter time, but they never get in a hurry, that’s for sure!
Honey, you can come to Salt Lake
right away, if you are able, and be sure to write or send a telegram so I can
meet you, won’t you darling? It sure seems good to be back, but I won’t be
satisfied until you are in my arms. I hope all of the folks are well. My
Christmas and New Year’s was very unhappy to me, and I know first about how you
felt, sweetheart, another one won’t go by without us being together, not if I
can help it, dear!
This
place is awful lonesome, nothing to do. If I can get a pass tomorrow, I want to
go down town and pick out a present, but will have to wait until you get here
to get the right size, dear. There must not be much wrong with me, or they
wouldn’t give me a pass, Ha Ha. Just army routine!
It’s
about time for me to get back up there for supper, and it’s quite a walk up
hill all the way! Please dear, answer right back, so I will know how you are
won’t you, honey?
I
will close for now and get back so be good and careful, I am for you darling!
Good night now!
With
all my love and kisses,
To
my dearest wife Clara,
Always
your loving
Husband
Johnny.
