Dear Marguerite,
I have my work done up and about an hour before supper so I thought I would write a few lines. I will send you laundry tomorrow. I have the stocking all mended. I put a hot iron on your good slip and have had to mend it. It was a shame but I had to iron with gas wires and I did not think it was so hot. Tonight is our first blackout. Daddy has to go over to Hausons. Cliff, Rory and Daddy are going to be there.
Aunt pear had Sandra over Monday. She was awfully cute. Carried your pillow, with the dog and cat embroidered on it, around all the white they were here. I am going up town with Shode tomorrrow. And take my sweater to the Red Cars as i have finished it.
Daddy does not have to go back to the doctors for two weeks. We had chicken for 2 day. Just necks and backs but I made noodles.
I have not heard from Dorothy. Her lintle sets on the rock all stretched out in the sun but I have not anything he will eat.
I got a whole new bunch of magazines Monday so I have been reading a lot. I will have Dorothy bring all of those magazines and leave them at the hospital so you can read them.
It’s awful dull and lonesome here I wish sometimes daddy had let Anna come over. Grandpa is better he has been working. Yesterday he staid home and cleaned house. A new bunch of boys have gone to camp. One by the name of Fuller was only gone an hour when his wife had a baby. I have all the old crats on the line. Your black one maybe you would like. Then there is that green one. If you do not want them im going to get rid of them.
Mrs. Ditslea showed me such a nice picture of Stanley, he is a sergeant and you should see the smile on his face he had his arm so the Chevron showed up swell.
Maybe aunt earl and I are coming up to Toled next Friday with the shopper from La Salles.
I am going to put a dollar in this letter for you to get your coat cleaned well. It is awful dirty so it will probably be that much. Be sure and have it done. Write to us and let us know what you are doing. This pen is awful but I can not find anything else. We have a rat in our cellar and I am afraid to move at night. Love Mother and Daddy
