Sun. Nite. 11 pm
My darling:
Just
a line or two before I try to sleep to tell you I love you and am terribly
lonesome for you. You know how much.
Only
a couple more days in this place thank goodness. I should be home by Wed. I’m
pretty weak but everything is healing nicely.
The
baby just left. He looked so much better than he did. He is whiter, losing a
little of his hair and shows more signs of life. He still looks like you for
which I am happy - except around the eyes and here I think he resembles me a
little. His eyes are blue now where before they were kind of black. He eats
like a little pig now too and there’s plenty for him. He gets enough and is
gaining. He is awfully good so far. I’m glad you like him.
I
had a card from Gilmore and Agnes. How are the Gardners?
Tell me all about it. Your mother also wrote. I haven’t been feelings so well –
mentally but I guess I’m alright. My disposition is terrible. All I want is you
and I dreamed about you last nite.
Had a letter from Marian. She’s still at Shepperd
but is on the alert for a P.O.E and she loves it.
Take
care of yourself my dearest one. I hope I’ll see you soon.
All
the love in the world to you.
Your wife,
Marguerite
