Feb. 10, 1944

My darling wife:

I’ll bet you think you are mart by putting that perfume on this letter of yours. You know what that does to me, it gave me chills all over every time I smelled it even George as a little excited about it. You’re the darnest kid you make me love you so much. Today again I have you on my mind, I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately, it seems to be affecting you the same way, but oh how I love you.

It snowed here all afternoon, about 3 inches and now it has turned into rain. It sure is miserable tonight. I’d hate to do any driving on a night like this.

Two of your letters came on Tuesday, and I have been getting one every day. Your letters are always so good; I always read them over and over about six times. I think you write the best letters I have ever read, you keep up my morale. You know you have to keep up a soldier’s morale when he is at camp.

I guess the baby takes after me a little. If he likes to be loved as much as I do you better look out. What I couldn’t do with some loving on a couple big kisses now. He seems to be getting more milk lately honey, so keep up your good work. How did he like his orange juice? Did he spit it out?

I am anxious to see you with your hair fixed. I was going to try to come home again this week, but if the weather is so nasty I don’t think I will come, but if it gets nice I expect to come. I am going to Columbus and try to get a bus up or either hitch it. I’ll probably call you up if I come or not. I would like to hear your voice anyway.

You still thrill me too honey. I never got tired of loving you yet and it has been some time. I still shake at your touch, Marguerite I love you, my heart aches so much for you tonight.

I think I will have to sew on a few buttons tonight. I am running low on shorts, but I will keep some for you don’t worry.

I think I’ll say goodnight for now my dear.

Remember honey I love you and am always thinking of you.

                Your handsome husband,

                                Preston
