Dearest Maggie,
Well
honey we finally finished about noon. I
made expert on the carbine transition course today, and it was very easy. Our five weeks of basic training was
finished, next week we start our technical.
I think I’ll be seeing you soon now.
Sometimes
it seems like you forget that I am still around. Here it is Thursday and the only letter I had
since last Sunday. I am so lonesome for
you so as it is and you make it worse. How
do you feel if you don’t get a letter in four days?
I
hope you had a nice trip honey. I am
thinking about you all day long, wondering where you are now, when you will get
there. I hope you are going to like it
there. I guess by now you heard the news
about Charlie. It was really a shock to
me, and hard to take. I’ll try to pay
some of those guys back when I get over there.
I
have so much love for you Maggie. I miss
you so much. I don’t know what Ill do if I don’t get to see you soon. I expect to be seeing you soon too. Are you still as much of a little devil as
you were?
Doesn’t
Allen have any truth yet? I thought he
had some month ago. Ide sure must be
having a hard time at it. I am driving
to see him again, and throw him up and down like I did before. I’ll be bet he will like it more now. I hope I can lift him.
So
you were glad I was on C.Q. Saturday? You are a little mean, aren’t you?
Ill
bet you are looking pretty with your hair all done up. You are the best looking woman I ever
saw. I love you Maggie.
I haven’t
much to say honey, there isn’t much news.
I’ll probably write you tomorrow night.
Goodnite
honey, sleep well, and dream of me.
All my love,
Pres.
