My dearest wife:
I
saw a very good show last night called “Roughly Speaking”, with Rosalind
Russell and Jack Carson. I enjoyed it
very much and I think you would like it too.
I could have enjoyed it more if I could be with you when I saw it.
I’ll
bet that beer and shot did taste good to you-after such a long time. I would
enjoy one myself. I don’t mind if you go out and have a drink. Whenever you
think you want a drink you should stay in and have one, it will keep you in
shape for when I come home. I hardly had a day to drink since I left the state,
but that is because there’s not much to drink here. I know you won’t go man
hunting, and it doesn’t worry me, I think you have enough with one to look
after. I love you, you know sweety.
How
is the family coming along? Allen must be growing like a weed and should be
just about talking about now. I miss the kids a lot and wish I could be there
with them. I think I am going to like “Bobby”. She looks awfully cute to me.
She’ll probably be my pet. Do you think she is going to like her daddy?
Give me some more details on her, especially her weight and how she is
progressing.
“Ric”
is still doing alright and expects around September.
Was
“Bobby” baptized on Easter?
I think
I sent you a picture of the Cathedral I visited. If I didn’t I’ll try to
get another picture for you.
What
do you mean- Allen dreams a lot just like her Dad. I very seldom dream honey.
That one time when I was home was an exception and that was about the last time
I’ll never get over that one.
I
love you Maggie- with all my heart. Goodnite sweet
All
my love,
Pres
