My
dearest wife:
I am just about all wrote out. I
just finished writing to mother and Ray. Yea I said Ray. I got a letter from
him today, much to my surprise and I was very glad to hear from him. Gee I just
thought I have to write to Ruth too. I had a letter from her about two weeks
ago and didn’t answer her yet. I think I will have to write to her tomorrow for
sure.
I missed you again today, as it was
Sunday. It seems I always miss you more on a Saturday or Sunday, although it
was tougher back in the states. Here one day is just like another.
I think you better send my little
dictionary Maggie, I think I could use some brushing up. And
how about a box from you. You didn’t break your arm did you?
Is your little tree growing – the one
you transplanted?
Bobby is coming along very nice from
your latest reports. She seems to be something like Allen being over weight. Allen was all the time. Does she look as
strong and healthy as Allen did? Seems you and I put out some pretty good kids.
Do you know anyone else who would like to try one.
Whenever you are feeling lonely and
thinking of me, you know I am thinking of you too. I can feel it away over
here.
You guessed right about that place I
visited it is a very nice place only a little knocked down. Your compact came
from the same place as the cathedral. I may be able to find some better cards –
etchings of France, and if I do I’ll send you a few more. I thought you would
like them that’s why I sent them.
Goodnite my sweet
I
love you – Pres.
