My dearest Margarite:
Things
are very quiet around here again. Another convoy just went up into Germany, and
I wasn’t lucky enough to go – as usual.
I
have some tea balls, and just finished making a cup of tea. It tastes good once in awhile. Tomorrow night I’ll probably make some
coffee.
I
was to the show again tonight and saw what I thought – a good show. It was “Christian in Connecticut”, with
Barbara Standwich. I never heard of it
or saw it?
Our
basketball floor is almost finished. We
had a little game last night, and boy am I stiff. I also have a few blisters on my feet from
these big boots. I sure wish I had some
gym shoes now. It’s just about
impossible to get them over here. I am
going to try to keep playing a couple nights a week and maybe I can back into
shape. I did make a few baskets, but
very lucky shots. I didn’t play the game
for about 6 or 7 years, and it takes a little while to get the eye again. If I can ever do any good, I may play for
some team when I get home. I think Mack’s
has a team. I am also going to get a
season ticket for the high school or college games. I love the fame, as it is my favorite
sport.
I
had a letter from Fran, Ric’s wife the other day. I was glad to hear from her, as it was the
only letter I received this week. She
says she is feeling better now. She also
asks for your address, but Ric sent it to her already.
I think
I will say goodnite for now as I am not feeling very good tonight.
All my love,
Preston
