My darling:
Two more letters from you today- U- mail. They were short but very sweet. In fact all your letters have been nice lately. Have you changed?
I seem to have the same thoughts as you writing so late at night. I never
get to bed before 12 sometimes 12:30. I don’t know if I ever told you, but it
doesn’t get dark here until about 11:30 and sometimes still a little light yet
at 12. The night is only about five hours long. That is how we should have it at
home when we have our house, and pigeons, we
can get a lot of work done. But then again, it wouldn’t give us much time in
bed, and that is fun too. I think I would like winter with the long nights, that
way we could have our fun by season, but then again, why wait for season. I
didn’t tell you yet- Maggie I love you with all my heart.
There haven’t been any shows so far this week, and from what I heard there won’t be any for awhile. You see the navy had the theatre and they moved out yesterday and today, but the rumors are that the army may take it over. I hope it does open soon again, for it gives us something to do a few nights a week. If I’m not mistaken I think “Christmas in Connecticut” is a new picture. We had a “Tree grows in Brooklyn” before you had it at home.
I played basketball for about a half hour tonight- one quarter. We have a pretty nice gym. In the other end of the gym in another room we are making a night club. We have a P.W. painting some women on the walls- yes some are naked, and he is doing a wonderful job. It is going to be a very nice place when it is finished, although we need more cement and we can’t get anymore. I can truthfully say that it will look better than many places I have been at back in the states. I think we will probably move out before it is completed, and all that work will be for someone else.
How are your spare tires? Did you wear anymore off lately? Keep up your good work honey, I’m for you 100%.
Maggie did you ever sleep with a married man? Well I slept with a married woman and quite often. It’s really nice too. She was the beset woman I ever ran across. Maybe you know her, her name is Maggie E. I am waiting for that day again, and I hope it will be soon. Don’t you? How do you like sleeping with a married man?
How did the kids like the trip? Was it tiresome for all of you? Write and tell me what kind of a trip you had and everything about it.
I hope you didn’t mind me calling you chubby. It was all in fun -and then maybe you are chubby, but your picture don’t show it.
No honey, I never did have many dreams, but I think I am building a good supply, and I guess it must come out sometime. I know someone that could take it out of me. At least I think she could. I do miss you my darling, more than you will ever know. Well anyway we have one argument settled, the twin bed situation, but I guess you know you would win all the time, anyway I couldn’t be in the same room with you sleeping so far away from you. You will never get away from me the next time I get your. Speaking of beds- how do you like my bed? I guess it isn’t as good as yours since you have your new bed.
I have one of the boys working on that house I was talking about. When it is finished I want you to look it over carefully and tell me what you think of it. He says it will be easy to heat and it shouldn’t cost too much. If you have any corrections in addition I want you to tell me. I agree with you about the rent deal. I also figured it out what rent would cost in a year or two or more. That money could be put into a house. We would be paying a little more, but it would still be cheaper than rent. The only thing I’m afraid of is that you can’t get the materials and the labor, and we can’t sit around and wait for it. So what are we going to do?
I think you are very wrong with one of the faults you found with me. The one about wasting water and electricity. In fact I know you are wrong. Ask mother. I had that trouble, about staying home nights, even since I was a kid. Even now i can’t stay in one place long. I have to be moving, but maybe things will change when I come home. I think it will be us to you a lot and the pigeons, they always have my mind occupied. Maggie, now that you are married for a few years, you have a perfect night to ask me to dance too. Most of the time you act like you don’t want to.
We never learned anything about major Bowes over here. It sure was a surprise to me. Can you tell me more about it? How did they find out? I guess there are a lot of things happening at home that we don’t know about.
Ill considered myself loved tonight, and it sure feels good. Oh my darling, but I love you. It just keeps going and going every day, and more at night. Tell me you love me too. It is very good to hear it from you. I never go to bed without looking at you- and the kids before I go to sleep, and every night I give a short prayer for God to take good care of you until I come home, and I also ask to be sent home to you soon. I do want to come home to you so bad, if you only knew how bad. I don’t think any other guy ever loved you the way I do. You can consider yourself loved tonight too. Tell me all about you and what you are doing and how you like the town. Go to town and do some shopping. I’ll send you money if you need it.
Goodnite darling,
You are all mine- FOREVER
Pres.
