My darling wife:
I
am still feeling pretty bad, my nose is still closed and I feel bad all over because of that. Yes, I did take some aspirin,
and I believe it did loosen it up a little. The weather we have over here is
lousy and no wonder a guy doesn’t get a cold. Another
thing one of the fellows that has experience said I need you. I don’t think I’d
ever get a cold or get sick a day in my life if I had you around. You know a
man must have a woman, its nature. I need you Maggie in more ways than a
million. I need you to take care of me.
I
am writing this letter from one of the tables in our night club. It opened last
Sunday, and I have paid it a visit every night it was open, thinking maybe I
could help my cold along, but I didn’t succeed yet. Ric is sitting across the
table from me writing too.
I
saw that picture, “The Clock”. The one you said you saw and was so sad I
thought it was pretty sad too. It made me think of you so much, and how we met,
but I did go with you a little longer than two days. I really enjoyed it honey,
it was really good. It made me realize again how much I love you. I do love
Maggie, my darling. I don’t know what I’d ever do without you, even way over
here in France. There is still no news on us coming home, so don’t let yourself
get worried if you don’t get any mail for a couple of days. I haven’t heard
from you for a couple of days either. I hope everything is alright. I guess you
are glad to be back home. How is
Mother and Dad? Please tell them I was asking about them.
I
hope you received your perfume by now, and if you did I hope you like it.
Tomorrow
is Saturday night again, so I hope I will be able to write a good letter
to you. I do hope I feel better.
I
love you so darling,
Goodnite
Maggie,
All
my love,
Pres
P.S. Maggie- Tell me you love me
