My darling wife:

Well I guess I was wrong again as usual, the Japan surrender didn’t come through yet, but it will almost any time now. The radio says they are getting all prepared back in the states. Oh darling I wish I could be there with you when the day comes, but I’ll be just as happy, even more so when I have you in my arms once again. I love you so much Maggie. My heart has been pounding all day again. It almost drives me crazy sometimes just thinking about you, about us. I just have to come home to you soon, We must be different than other people. I don’t know if anyone feels the way I do about my lonely wife, and how darn bad I want to come home to you. We have real love Maggie, a lot more than most married people ever had. I just love you with all my heart. I can’t even seem to be able to tell you enough. I’ll do more than tell you when I come back. When I get my arms around you, you’ll think you are caught in a wringer.

Did you ever get your Chanel No. 5 yet? I am anxious to hear what you think about it. On the second thought, that breathless isn’t so very bad either. It sure is lasting. You better not put any of these perfumes on when you go down town, or you’ll be having a gang of men following you, and I don’t want that to happen. Just be careful where and when you use it.

I like the way you have your hair on that picture. I’m not the only one that thinks so, one of the fellows said you look much younger with your hair down. You do look gorgeous Maggie, and you can’t get away from it.

We had a socialable game of volleyball this afternoon, and the side I was on won all three games. It was a lot of fun.

Well my darling, I think I will end this for tonight, but I’ll see you tomorrow. Goodnite Maggie dear.

                                                                        All my love,

                                                                                    Pres.
