Dear Mom + Pop:
My teeth aren’t bothering me now but I still have to get a lot filled yet.
When I send that pass home to get in the gate, it will just have yours and pops name on it but. Uncle Den can get in anyway.
Well we get a holiday on Labor Day. We can sleep late and just bum around all day. I wish we could get liberty, and then I could come home. But Oct 1 isn’t such a long way off.
I got a letter from Hartmen’s girl and she told me that Hartmen in the Army now along with Dale Greenfield. They lunch right together. She wrote and told me that he was in bed with a fever on his first shot. Thank goodness I’ve had all my shots. I’m really glad I joined the regular navy now. The reserves when done there boot training will ship right out to sea. But the regulars will have a chance to go to school. A lot of the fellows are switching over to the regulars. Well mom I’ll have to close now. All my love.
Alfred
P.S. You can send that box of food or candy now. I can chew pretty good.
