Dear Mom + Pop,
Just a few lines to let you know that I’m alright.
My address is:
Alfred Simmonds
O.G.U.Bks 643-E
U.S.N.T.C.
We were all split up today. Then only two from our company together. Another fellow and I. I just finished washing a pan of dungaree, so that’s one thing off my mind. Well, mom, that’s about all I have to write about, except that I’ll probably be home again next weekend. Just don’t keep banking on it. Well take care of yourself.
All my love,
Alfred
P.S. Don’t send down any cake or candy because were not allowed to have any in the barrack here either.
