Dear Mom and Pop

Just a few [words], have to let you know that I may not be able to make it this weekend. I am pretty sure though that one of the fellows will stand by for me.  You see, I have the duty this weekend.  I didn’t think I did, but I sort of miscalculated on the dates.  I really do want to get home on account of that thing out on the farm.  What I probably will do is thumb up early saturday so that I can be home about noon anyway.  Well I suppose I’d better close now.  Hope to see you this weekend.

                                                                        All my love
