Dear mom + Papa:
Just a few lines to let you know how things are going. I’m sorry that I haven’t written for such a long time but I’ve been pretty busy, and that’s no kidding. The chief got discharged so I have to shift?? for myself. To top it off I’ve sent a wool here for duty so I’m supposed to break her in.
This weekend you know that I have the duty with the skipper and probably next weekend I won’t be home either for financial reasons.
I want to try to buy a pair of slacks for this summer, one of these weekends.
Well I hope you are feeling a little better now. Don’t stay worrying and don’t try to do a lot around the house.
As soon as I get out of the navy, which is about 196 more days, well be able to do something with the house.
Well, I supposed I better knock there few lines for now.
Take care of yourselves
All my love,
Alfred.
