My dearest Folks:
I think it’s about time that I drop you a line and let you know how
everything is down here. As for me, I am fine but have been quite busy. I got a
letter from Rita today and she hasn’t been getting much mail from me and I guess
she thinks I’m running around but land I don’t have the time. Some of the guys
here have and now their paying for it, so I’m not losing anything in being good
huh ma. There is a lot of girls down here but they don’t have any respect for
themselves. Take when we were on patrol on the beach, we see some sights and it
gets sickening seeing so much of it…[edited for content], but most of the guys
just laugh at them and call them goofs. Oh well this old world has gone to the
dogs, but I’m glad there are still some good people left huh ma. The worst part
of it is they are most of all married women and their husbands are in the
service, boy I’m glad I’m not married. Well ma what’s all the excitement up your
way? How’s the weather up there? Yes I’m getting the sun now. Thanks a lot. Oh
yes we are going to move down to
XXXX
XXXX Love to all,
Leslie.
P.S.
Next time you write me this is my new address.
