Dear Mother:

Received two letters and a card from you today and was very happy to hear that you’re all fine and for me I couldn’t be any better except for being home and that couldn’t be beat. My but you had quite a snow storm for so late in the season, lord that’s just like having winter all over again.

My but Burr surely been going to town with his B-24. Glad for him, he must be home by now isn’t he? If you see him tell him that we’ve got a big celebration coming up after the Japs are done. The Japs are starting to send out peace feelings and I sure hope that they do give up and go home.

Everything is still the same here nothing new has been happening as yet, but were having nice weather so that’s one big help.

Yes ma, I still carry that poem with me and it’s been with me ever since I received it from you.

Well ma, must be closing for tonight and hoping these few lines find you in the best of health and don’t worry I’m taking good care of myself. Bye bye for now.

                                                                                                                                                Love to all,

                                                                                                                                                            Leslie
