My Dearest Mother:

Hello sweety and how is everything back on the home front? Just fine I hope and as for me I’m just fine and not working very hard now and of course that’s not hurting my feeling a bit. Well I suppose you’ve been wondering how many points I’ve got well I have the big sum of 47 which is along ways from 85 huh ma. So I guess I’ll have too stay with Uncle Sam for awhile longer. Oh yes I have two battle stars which counts five points apiece. Were suppose to have three in all but I guess we’ll just end up with two.

Rita was telling me that she rode up in the train and saw Thelma and Betty; she said that she had quit a talk and that Betty is getting to be quit a lady. I sure would like to see all the folks but lets hope it isn’t much longer now huh ma. Land when I come home and see them all grown up it will make me feel like an old man. How is pa now days? Is he working steady now? How’s the old paper mill running now? Just think three years ago I was working their. My but I done a lot of traveling since then and I sure like to have a dollar for every mile I’ve travel since I’ve been in the army my couldn’t we buy a car then. HaHa. Have you sold the car yet? Well ma must close and hit the sack so bye bye for now.

                                                                                    Love to all,

                                                                                                Leslie
