Dear Hon:
Good evening sweetheart. I just read
your last letter over again so that I could gather some conversation from it. I
read the two I received today about 3 times at work and yet I had to read
again. Mary asked me, what you wrote about and I had to stop and think. I heard
today what I wanted to hear, and that is that you received the pictures dear. I
was sure that you would like them. I had 2 more sets made I went after them and
guess what? They enlarged that same picture again of you and I
in our back yard. I didn’t take it though as I have one just like it already
and besides it’s just a racket that they had acquired recently.
Mary and I walked to Kitty’s right
after work, so we stopped at the drugstore. She made me some cuffs and collars
so I stopped by to pick them up. Joe M. wrote home that he is alright, just a
few scratches from the brush and had 1 Jap to his credit, which he said was
enough after the combat he seen. Marty was out collecting ashes tonight, he
must be made of iron, he never rests.
First day of spring today, and we
woke up to find plenty of snow on the ground. Mary shoveled before we could
drive out it was so high and kept on coming. It stopped around dinner time and
it’s quite clear and warmer tonight.
So you were going to a beer party in
the best hotel in
Darling? I
meant to tell you so many times how much pleasure I’m getting out of wearing
that beautiful pin you bought me. It is so pretty that everyone remarks about
it. I wear it even though I was to save it for goodwear.
I am so very proud of it, just as I am of you. When someone asks me where I got
it, I proudly say it’s from my darling husband, I wish you could see me beam.
Sweetheart I will say goodnight
although I’m not going to bed yet as I have many more things to take care of.
I
love you darling with all my heart.
Your Loving Wife
