Dear
Hon:
Good
afternoon sweetheart.
I’m
sorry darling that I didn’t write you earlier this morning but sweetheart
there is so much to do just before the holidays now and being on late besides all
week. Mary and I worked every minute from the time we got up until we got to
work and then we worked again. We hung up curtains in the Cafeteria before
dinner and we will put up some more before supper. We had a lovely fish dinner
this noon. We had fried fish, mashed potatoes, cabbage salad, vegetable soup
and lemon pie. I’ll bet it sounds good to you Honey, doesn’t it?
I
received your today’s letter yesterday. Mr. Henry possibly brought it
along with him. That made 2 letters yesterday. In my morning mail I received a
$5 bill from you my darling. Honey, I thank you with all my heart for doing so,
it is just like you Hon, you will give up your last
cent for me. I will buy myself a beautiful nightgown [with] it the first chance
I get. I happen to have an Easter bonnet that I bought last year around this
time.
I
have always wished for a pretty nightgown and that is what I will get with my
gift from you. Thank you again.
In the afternoon mail dear, I received you letter that had Walt and Wanda’s letter and Easter card.
You
tried your best darling to explain to me in detail about a P.O.E. Regardless
darling when anyone gets to a P.O.E. it is natural to start worrying as that is
where the boys go across from, unless they are shifted again from that point.
Darling, I would feel at ease if I thought that you would stay in this country
but not knowing is not very healthy business. Why worry ahead of time though,
start worrying when the time comes.
Sylvia,
Mary and I went visiting churches last night. It was a beautiful evening and it
is still beautiful out today. I lit a candle for Walt and you dear in Holy
Trinity Church. I was very happy to be able to do so. I’m hoping that God
will bless you both for Easter and every day after. We visited 5 churches.
I
will close now darling as one of the girls is waiting to mail this letter for
me. I Love You honey with all my heart.
May
[next] Easter be much happier for all of us than this one will be.
Your Loving Wife
