Nov. 6-1945
Dear Mom,
This is just a short note to let you know that everything is coming along fine. Please notice that my new address is now Sect. 42 (forty-two), as section 47 is no more. I hope this is the last time I move before I start home. I think there is a very good chance that I’ll be on my way in January, possibly late December. In fact I think it’s even surer than that. They sure sent a lot on the way this month. Clear down to 60 points. And, I think they’ll go right down the line to the 50’s. So, maybe it’s a good thing you canned plenty of food. It’ll really be something wonderful to eat some of your swell food again.
Well, Merry Christmas, please see that everybody gets something with this $20. I wish I could be there – but winter’ll probably still be there when I come home.
Please give my love to all. I’ll be seeing you all soon. I’ve got my fingers crossed,
Your loving son,
Chuck
