Dear Father,
I got a letter. Now I hope my family is fine. I am fine. I am sorry I couldn’t send a letter March 21 but because I joined the mission we arrived at two AM on March 21. We divided our party into three parts. One part is the security, one part is the agency, one part is the army. It snowed hard and there was a hard wind. We have to climb a mountain but the enemy occupied the high mountain so it’s hard to climb, but because of our attack, they were gradually pushed back. We stayed twenty one nights. They attacked us on that night.
In the morning on March 22, we drew water from the well to start to prepare the meal. There are many unusual plants because it is near the Chinese mountains. At about 11 AM we went to the headquarters that completely encompasses the city. I think it is interesting. We set fire to the enemy’s food reserves. I thought we could decrease the enemy’s numbers. However, one of our soldiers injured his leg. I do not know if others were injured or not. We stayed in a shelter on March 22.
We left at 2 PM on March 23. We took a train and we reached Reiseki at 6 PM. We had two days of rest. We watched the amusement party from Shotiku. This is interesting. There are many Rakugo, Manzai, dancing Mai, and singing.
We left at 2 PM and we reached Seijo at 6 PM. We reached safety.
I heard Chinese alcohol is not good. Chinese alcohol is too sweet and I heard that I drink too much Chinese alcohol. I became sick so I don’t drink so much anymore.
I met Mr. Sabulo
and I drank Japanese alcohol at night. Mr. Sabulo is
fine. He has a disease so he couldn’t do strong exercise and still stays in Reiseki. He borrowed money from me. Mr. Sabulo
says I can come back to
I don’t know when I will come back
to
Today it is cold with a spring wind. Some plants grow up and become blue. Some people race to visit our party. I wish everything will be better.
I hope to hear from you.
March 26.
Yoshio
To my father.
