Wed. Morning
About 9:15
Hello Darling,
In all the excitement last night I didn’t get to write. I’ll get this in
the mail this morning and it will be all the same. We went to Canton
& I never saw so many people in all my life. We came home and it was
late. We are going back today because there having a big parade &
etc. The news was surely grand but I was surprised. I didn’t think
the dirty devils would surrender. All the time I was there in Canton
yesterday watching some people celebrate I kept wondering what you were
doing. Maybe it won’t be too long now that we can be together for a long
time. I’m still in bed so if you can’t read this writing you know why.
I got a letter from Naomi yesterday. All she talked about was Saturday
night and her new honey. She said she had more fun with him Saturday
night than she ever did with Charlie. Poor Charlie is S.O.L that’s all I
know. He probably don’t care. Maybe Naomi’s sailor will get
discharged soon and then she will have a man.
Darling, there is no news. Everyone is still celebrating the war being
over. My Dad said he isn’t going back to work this week. Of course
he has to get a little pie-eyed. I didn’t care because I felt like it
myself, but didn’t. Darling I’m going to close now and get this in the
mailbox. I love you Darling more and more and I’m hoping to see you
soon. Two or Three months from now. I get so anxious to see you I
hardly know what to do.
Always yours,
Marge.
