Dear Ralph,

I have wrote so many times and got no answer from you but will try again.  Perhaps someone will read it.  I hope you are well and are getting some rest by now since the war is over; we had a big celebration in town, one big parade after another.  Sherodsville came up and Carrollton came down.  The Band played so nice and so much, so many pieces that we know.  Morris Fawcett and family went through town.  But did not have time to stop; we are having a long dry spell out here, we dug our potatoes had 12 bushel for both families.  Your wife and Father and Mother was down last Sunday!  They were all right and said they would have the Thrashers Monday evening for Supper.  They were at James Noble’s.  My was I ever glad to see them: was down last October and had not saw them since. Norma Jean and Betty was going to the show to see Frieker.  He is a fancy horse.  Arthur was working and Ila and the children was at Mr. Sternerth for the day: we have your Preacher or the one you had at Harlem for our minister now; Mr. Dorhees.  Ralph I hope you get these few times; we never got to see you any time you was at home: when you get back Please bring your wife and come to see me.  I wish you the best of luck; and hope you get to come home before so many months.  So long till I see you as ever,

                                                Your Aunt Etta Davis
