Dear Mom-

This has to be fast. We’re leaving the range in 5 days and how long we’ll be at the main station I don’t know so you better send me $35.00 in a registered letter. Use the same address as you always do and send it air mail (3 three cent stamps.) I’ll get it all right. Make it cash since anything else is awkward to cash around here. I’ll get a pay, how big it’ll be is a question and I don’t want to be short when train time comes. Besides I need a garrison cap (not issue stuff), a couple of belts, etc; so don’t worry about it being spent foolishly. Send the money as soon as you get this (we may or may not leave sooner) I’m doing all right but I want to get out of here as fast as possible. Good idea about the dog. Hang on to Tom when he returns-glad you sold the car. Take care of yourself and say hello to Mollie. Sorry this is so short- I’ll write lengthier when time permits.
